What areas of the body can be treated with Fat Dissolving Injections?
We have found that the most popular areas is double chins, inner thighs, love handles, abdomens and the back of the upper arms - those areas that are hard to exercise are generally where most people would like treated. Our team at Neo Derm will let you know during your initial consultation.
When should you not have this treatment?
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or you are trying to conceive - we suggest that you do not have this treatment done. We also suggest that you should avoid this treatment if you have: chronic health issues, systemic autoimmune disease such as MS or Lupus, uncontrolled cardio vascular disease, bowel disease, liver or kidney disease or inflammatory disorders.
Does this treatment hurt?
After the treatment - which will only momentarily feel like a pin prick, you may find that there is a mild ache in the area being treated - this is the process of your body helping to metabolise the fat. Our team at Neo Derm can use an anaesthetic and suggest icing procedures to help with this. We will discuss other side effects at your consultation.
How many treatments are required?
This is different from person to person - our team will discuss this with you. A rule of thumb is about 3-5 treatments in 6-8 week intervals, however we will discuss this with you more according to your circumstances.
What is in the injection?
The small injections contain: vitamins, phosphatidyl chloride (PC) which is a soy bean extract and deoxycholate (DC) which is a naturally occuring bile salt (usually secreted by the gall bladder).

Post Care Treatment Advice

  • Please ensure that you complete the full range/course of treatments that we will plan for you during our initial consultation - good results will require at least three injections
  • Massaging the treated area for 5 min per day 5 times per day for 5 days will help in the fat dissolving process
  • You may find there is redness or mild burning, swelling or bruising in the treated area within the 5 days after your treatment
  • There is no restrictions on exercising after your treatment
  • It is ok to consume alcohol in moderation after your treatment
  • On 5% of patients - Fat dissolving Injections will not work.
